Our research interests are nanogenerator and self-powered smart microsystems. In recent years, a series of original research have been carried out on triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG), tribotronics and self-powered MEMS/NEMS. First, we have revealed the symmetry and complementarity of triboelectric nanogenerator and traditional electromagnetic generator, as well as developed the TENG with ultra-high surface charge density and output power. Second, we have initiated a new field of tribotronics by coupling triboelectricity and semiconductors, and developed a series of tribotronic functional devices for active mechanosensation. Third, we have proposed a universal power management strategy for TENG, which is promising for a complete micro-energy solution with great prospects in the fields of sustainable wearable devices and wireless sensor networks.
